Latrobe, PA (September 22) -- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team bounced back from its first Presidents' Athletic Conference defeat, with a 7-2 win over the Bethany Bison. 

The Bearcats opened the match with an 8-5 win at third doubles by Livia Wentworth and Lauren Hartner. Saint Vincent extended its lead to 2-0, as Maura Skelley and Autumn Miller teamed for an 8-4 win at first doubles. The Bison struck back at second doubles to pull the match to 2-1 heading into singles.

SVC controlled the rest of the match, winning five of the six remaining points. The win was clinched by Lisa Marthens' 6-2, 6-3 effort at third singles. Junior Jessica Hartner picked up her first win on the year, 6-1, 6-1 at sixth singles. After her win in doubles and a tough fought 6-2, 2-6, 10-1 win at first singles, Skelley capped off her week with perfect 6-0 record in conference play. 

Saint Vincent's record improves to 4-2 (2-1 PAC) on the year. The Bearcats return to action on Monday, September 24 for a PAC road match against the Thiel Tomcats.
