The Saint Vincent men's basketball team bested Chatham for a 75-68 Presidents' Athletic Conference road win. The Bearcats improve to 15-2 (8-0) on the year.
Chatham overcame a 17-point deficit to pull within three points with 5:22 remaining in the second half, but the Bearcats weathered the storm and outscored the Cougars 16-12 en route to an eighth consecutive PAC win.
Chatham took a 10-8 lead but SVC's
Mike Simmons responded with a three to give the Bearcats the lead. Â After Chatham regained a 17-15 advantage, Saint Vincent unleashed a 14-0 run. Â During that stretch, Simmons scored five and
David Stephen contributed a coast-to-coast layup at the 8:48 mark.

Stephen connected on a three to extend SVC's lead to 18 (40-22).
Tom Kromka made a layup off a Stephen assist to send SVC into halftime with a 42-25 lead, but Chatham displayed resilience and responded with a 9-0 run to start the second half.
Kromka scored consecutive buckets for SVC to give the Bearcats a 50-38 lead at the 14:33 mark. Â A three by
Kyle Pope made the score 57-46 with just over 10 minutes left in the game. Â However, Chatham bounced back again to cut its deficit to 3 (59-56) at the 5:22 mark.
Shemar Bennett helped Saint Vincent pull ahead down the stretch with back-to-back layups, making the score 66-58 with 2:24 remaining. Â Both teams exchanged free throws in the final two minutes as SVC edged Chatham for a seven-point victory.
Stephen led the Bearcats with 18 points. Kromka contributed a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Simmons added 14 including 3 threes. Â Isaiah Brown led all scorers with 29.Â
Saint Vincent improves to 8-0 in conference play and 15-2 overall.
The Bearcats take the floor against W&J College on Saturday (January 19) at 6 p.m.
