The Saint Vincent women's tennis team earned a Presidents' Athletic Conference victory over the Thiel Tomcats, 7-2.
The Bearcats started off hot, securing the first two doubles points. Winning 8-6 and 8-4 at first and third doubles respectively. The Tomcats struck back with an 8-6 win of their own at second doubles.
Saint Vincent again sprinted out of the gates in singles as
Maura Skelley and
Angela Popovich secured matching 6-1, 6-0 wins at first and second singles, respectively.
Maria Hoh put the finishing touches on the match for the Bearcats with a 6-0, 1-6, 10-5 win at sixth singles.
Kate Palko and
Abby Jo Stull also won by matching 6-2, 6-4 scores at third and fourth singles for SVC, respectively.
The Bearcats' record now sits at 6-2 (2-2 PAC) as they head into their senior day match against Waynesburg University. The match is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m.Â
