The Saint Vincent college women's tennis team rolled to a non-conference win over Pitt-Greensburg, 9-0.
Abby Jo Stull and
Kate Palko opened the match with an 8-0 win at second doubles.
Livia Wentworth and
Lauren Hartner followed that up with an 8-1 win at third doubles before
Maura Skelley and
Angela Popovich claimed an 8-3 win at first doubles.
Skelley claimed the first singles point, 6-2, 6-0, to put the Bearcats up 4-0 before Wentworth clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win at fifth singles. Linger Williams cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles, the first win of her career. Popovich, Palko, and Stull also won their singles matches in straight sets.
The win pushes Saint Vincent's record time 8-4 on the year. The Bearcats return to action when they travel to Beaver Falls to take on Geneva in the opening round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference playoffs. The match is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Blackhawk High School.
