David Stephen led all scorers on the night with 17 points, but the real story of the game took place inside the paint, where SVC out-rebounded Waynesburg by a 47-19 margin.  Drew Normandin led SVC with six rebounds, but as with the scoring, SVC was balanced on the boards, with 13 different player recording at least one rebound.

The Bearcat got their offense rolling at the 15:50 mark of the first half, when Shemar Bennett scored on a tip-in, then followed with a layup 30 seconds later to put SVC in front, 12-7. Mike Simmons then hit a three, followed by layups from Tom Kromka and Cletus Helton, completing a 9-0 run that put the hosts in front, 19-7.  After a score from the Jackets temporarily halted the run, Saint Vincent scored 7 more points, making the score 26-9.

The lead reached 20 points after another three by Simmons and a pair of Bennett free throws, 38-18.  With under two minutes left in the first half, a tip-in by Normandin made it a 25-point game, 46-21, and the Bearcats ended the half with a 50-24 advantage.

Stephen set the tone early in the second half, scoring the first 6 points of the period on back-to-back three pointers.  Near the 15-minute mark, Kyle Pope hit a pair of threes to help run the lead to 32 (64-32).  Stephen added two more long-range threes  before the midpoint of the second half, making the score 74-36, as the Bearcats ultimately went on to a 28-point victory.

Behind Stephens on the scoresheet was Simmons with 13 points, while Kromka added 12 and Bennett had 10.  Pope added 9 points on three shots from outside the arc.  Andrew Reed had 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

The Bearcats will be back in action on Wednesday (February 13) as the team travels to Beaver Falls to face Geneva College at 7:30PM.
