The Saint Vincent baseball team dropped a pair of games by scores of 10-4 and 3-0 to Penn State-Altoona on the road in Blair County.
In the opener, the Lions scored three runs on four hits in the bottom of the first off SVC starter
TJ Dailey (0-1). Â However, the Bearcats came back in the top of the second to tie the game. Â
Bobby Finn led off the inning with a solo home run, his sixth of the season and fifth this week. Â
Matt Morrone was then hit by a pitch, and moved to second when
Zach Barberich drew a walk.  A single by
Nick LaCava made it a one-run game, and
Tanner Yard then singled home Barberich to tie the game.
The tie was short lived, as the hosts took advantage of a Bearcat error, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second to take a 5-3 advantage, and the lead grew to 10-3 before the Bearcats added a late run on an RBI groundout by LaCava in the sixth.
Dailey worked 1 2/3 innings, yielding three earned runs and taking the loss.  Barberich worked one scoreless inning, striking out the side.
In game two,
Jarrett Noel (0-1) started and took the loss, working three innings and giving up a pair of runs. Â
Casey Jones worked two scoreless innings mid-game, then
Matt Evans yielded a run in the sixth. Â The Bearcat bats were unable to provide support, with just four hits in the game. Â A double by
Shane Fajt was the team's lone extra base hit. Â
Saint Vincent is now 10-7 on the season. Â The team returns to action on Sunday (March 31) hosting Thiel College at Bearcat Ballfield. Â
