The Bearcat bats rallied behind a strong pitching performance from Fred Gillespie, as Saint Vincent remained undefeated on the season with a 14-0 win over Emerson College in Kissimmee, Florida.

Saint Vincent is now 4-0 on the season.

Gillespie allowed two runners aboard via hits in the top of the first, but worked his way out of trouble, and SVC went right to work in the bottom of the inning to give him a lead. Stone Holtzman singled with one out and moved to second on a wild pitch, then scored on a Bobby Finn single.  The lead was 2-0 after the second inning, when Tanner Yard singled home a run following three straight walks.

In the third, the first three SVC batters of the inning - Nick LaCava, Finn and Matt Morrone - were each hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Ramon Milke drew a walk to bring in a run, then TJ Dailey singled home two more runs to make it 5-0.  Yard singled home Milke, then Holtzman singled home two more runs, as SVC pulled ahead 8-0.

Up 10-0 in the fifth, the Bearcats got a leadoff single from Milke, who then scored on a double by Dailey.  Parker Janosko then singled home Dailey to run the lead to 12-0, and a single by Matt Evans brought in the 13th run of the game.

The final run came on an RBI single by Will Tsal in the bottom of the 6th.

Gillespie went 6 innings, giving up just 5 hits, walking one and striking out four.  Tom Bash worked the final inning, striking out two.

The 4-0 start by the Bearcats is their best since 2012, and the team will look for its fifth straight win on Thursday (March 7), as they face Penn State-New Kensington in Auburndale, Florida at 2PM.
