The Grove City Wolverines won a pair of conference games from Saint Vincent at Bearcat Ballfield by scores of 4-0 and 6-4.

In the first game, Bearcat starter
Jimmy Malone kept the Wolverines hitless through three innings, but the visitors had three consecutive singles in the fourth, leading to a run. Â An inning later, four straight singles brought home two more runs, to make it a 3-0 game.

A solo home run by Grove City's Derek Boyle to lead off the top of the seventh extended the lead to 4-0.

Grove City's Luke Pry (6-0) kept the Bearcats off the board once again in the bottom of the 7th, earning the shutout win, holding SVC to just four hits.

Malone suffered his first loss of the season, as his record now sits at 5-1.

In game two, the game was once again scoreless into the fourth, when Grove City started the inning with four straight singles off SVC's
Casey Jones, bringing in two runs. Â A wild pitch led to the third run of the inning.

Down 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, SVC's
Stone Holtzman singled to lead off, then moved to second when
Bobby Finn drew a walk. A groundout by
Matt Morrone moved the runners ahead, then Holtzman scored on a wild pitch. Another wild pitch then scored Finn, making the score 3-2.

Grove City added a run in the top of the sixth to increase their lead to 4-2.

In the bottom of the sixth,
Hunter Mills drew a two-out walk, then moved to third on a double by Finn. Morrone followed with a single to right that plated both runners, tying the game at 4-4.

An RBI triple by Micah Burke in the top of the 7th gave the Wolverines the advantage once again, 5-4. A single followed, giving the visitors a 2-run lead, and the Bearcats were unable to score.
Ryan Bini (3-3) went the distance for the visitors, while
Casey Jones (6-1) took the loss for Saint Vincent.Â
Ben Davis worked the final 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Â
Stone Holtzman and
Zach Barberich each had two hits for the Bearcats.

Saint Vincent is now 9-7 in the conference, 17-13 overall. Grove City improves to 11-4 in the conference, 21-10 overall.
