The Saint Vincent women's tennis team earned a Presidents' Athletic Conference win over the Bethany Bison by a score of 8-1 on the road in West Virginia.
The Bearcats swept doubles play to take an early 3-0 lead.
Livia Wentworth and
Lauren Hartner teamed up for an 8-0 win at third doubles, followed by
Maura Skelley and
Angela Popovich claiming an 8-1 win at first doubles.
Kate Palko and
Abby Jo Stull rounded out doubles action with an 8-3 win in the two spot.
Maria Hoh opened up singles play with her first collegiate victory, a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at sixth singles. Skelley clinched the match for Saint Vincent with a straight sets win at first singles, 6-1, 6-2. Also winning for the Bearcats were Popovich, Stull, and Wentworth, all in straight sets.Â
Saint Vincent's record now sits at 2-1 (1-1 PAC) on the year. The Bearcats will return to action on Wednesday, September 18 at 3:00 pm when they take on Muskingum in a non-conference road match.
