Josh Gurekovich.

Q: What was your favorite subject in school? Why?
A: History, I like to learn what caused different events around, especially Modern US History.
Q: What was your first job growing up?
A: I was an Nanny for a family that lived a couple of houses away from me. Then moved on to life guarding at the local community pool through high school.
Q: What was your first car?
A: White '86 Ford Tempo.
Q: When did you know you wanted to go into a career in collegiate athletics?
A: Probably towards the end of my Sophomore year in college.
Q: What's your all-time favorite movie?
A: Hard Question. I love to watch movies so I am going to list a couple. A Few Good Men, Rocky I, II, IV, Wolf of Wall Street.
Q: What's your favorite meal?
A: Thanksgiving Dinner, hands down. I was in a friend's wedding once and they had a Family Style Thanksgiving Dinner. Maybe the best wedding ever! Besides mine of course.
Q: Tell us about your family.
A: I have been married for 16 years to Chrissy. We met in college and she was on the Women's Swim Team. We have 2 kids. Connor is 12 and is super active in sports playing Soccer, Dek Hockey, and just started running Cross Country for the Norwin Knights Middle School Team. Emily is 11 and she loves doing gymnastics and musical theater. She can be heard singing throughout the house every day. She even introduced herself to my guard staff this year while on a zoom meeting and she was singing in her room.


Q: How do you relax?
A: Watching Movies, Mt. Biking, hanging out with Family and friends.
Q: What meal/dish/item are you best at cooking?
A: Burgers on the grill.
Q: What are your favorite artists/songs on your all-time list?
A: Weezer for Artist and Beck- I am a Loser for song.
Q: Favorite TV show of all-time?
A: Sopranos
Q: What's the best advice you ever received and who did it come from?
A: Your actions show what your true goals are not what you say they are. - Andy Herr
Q: What's your favorite season/type of weather? Why?
A: I am a big fan of Fall. The temperature is usually great, and you can do almost anything you want outside.
Q: When you go grocery shopping, are you the "Make a List" person or the "Just Wing It" person?
A: I am a "Honey, is the list ready person. Although, I do usually grab some extras while at the store.
Q: Are you a tech savvy person?
A: I think I can manage but ask the team for help with all the newer social media platforms.
Q: Describe your perfect day off.
A: Hanging out on a beautiful beach with perfect surfing waves.
Q: What is your biggest fear?
A: going spelunking and getting stuck in a small passageway.
Q: How many and what kind of pets do you have? How long have you had them?
A: we have 2. A Chocolate Lab, Henry. We have had him since he was a puppy and he is now 2 and a half. Our other "pet" is a Lobster. He doesn't have a name and is only with us in the month of October. We also has an Alligator for a little while but he got too big for his skin.


Q: Cats or dogs?
A: DOGS!!!
Q: Who are your heroes?
A: My Parents- They have truly made me who I am today.
Q: Can you sing or play an instrument?
A: Not even close
Q: What is/would be your go-to karaoke song?
A: Ring of Fire by Jonny Cash
Q: Fly or drive for a long trip?
A: Drive anything under 12 hours.
Q: Where was/is your favorite vacation spot? Why?
A: Any warm weather Beach. Can't think of anything more relaxing.

Q: How long can you go without looking at your phone?
A: Everyday for at least 6 hours. Can't play with your phone while you are asleep. But in reality, pretty long if I am doing something.
Q: If you could go back in history to attend one event, what would it be and why?
A: I would like to be able to attend the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney to watch all the swimming sessions. To be able to be a part of a country to really loves the sport I love and to feel their energy during the races would be incredible.
Q: Who would be your 3 dream dinner guests and why?
A: My Mom, she passed away between my Sophomore and Junior years in college.
Vince Vaughn - I just think he would be really entertaining and fun to hang out with.
Mario Lemieux - I am big Penguin's fan and also admire him for everything he has accomplished.
