The Saint Vincent women's bowling team completed the sweep in the second day of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference round-robin tournament, finishing the weekend at 9-0 to sit atop the standings.

The team wasn't as sharp on day two, but picked up wins to open the day against Penn State-Altoona (786-654) and Pitt-Bradford (790-744).
In the third match, SVC faced D'Youville College and won the opening game 189-134. D'Youville bounced back to win the second, 157-143, then threw a 243 in the third game while SVC shot a respectable 190. D'Youville held a 26-pin lead going into game four, but

Dani Koehler and
Meghan Christman struck in frames 4-6, then Koehler threw two strikes in the 10
th, lifting SVC to a 199-171 lead and a 2-pin advantage going into the final game. The Bearcats put it all together in the final game of the set, pulling away to a 205-123 win to take the series, 941-857.

SVC's final match of the weekend was against Mount Aloysius College, a team that entered the match with a 7-1 record. The Bearcats got off to a quick start, shooting games of 203 and 210, bringing home an 834-730 victory to finish the weekend with a perfect record.

Koehler led the way on day two with a per-frame average of 18.77, a game equivalent of 187.7. Guesman finished at 17.65, while
Olivia Emmonds averaged 17.0. Christman (16.32) and
Morgan Barlock (15.71) rounded out the top five.

Saint Vincent leads the conference with a record of 9-0, followed by Medaille (8-1), Mount Aloysius (7-2) and D'Youville (6-3). Saint Vincent is now 36-4 (.900) on the season, the highest winning percentage in the NCAA.

Round two of the AMCCs will take place on March 7-8 in Altoona.Â

DAY ONE RECAP
The Saint Vincent women's bowling team sits in first place among 10 teams after the first day of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament, hosted by Penn State-Behrend at Eastland Bowl in Erie.
The Bearcats got off to a slow start for the day, averaging just 157.8 in their opening Baker match, holding on for an 84-pin victory over New Jersey City University, 789-705.

Up next was a matchup with Penn State-Behrend, and the Bearcats threw a pair of 177 games, improving their average in the set to 166.8, winning 834-712.

The Bearcats then squared off against reigning AMCC champion Medaille College. The Mavericks captured the first game of the set, 187-174, but the Bearcats stormed back with a 213-172 win in game two, followed by a 205-183 win in game three. In the fourth game of the set, SVC shot a 196 to Medaille's 182, taking a 64-pin lead into the final game. Medaille was victorious in game five, 192-185, but SVC won the match by a score of 973-916, an average of 194.6 for the block.

SVC then faced La Roche in match four. After a slow start in the first game, a 146-143 win, SVC rallied with games of 225, 186, 221 and 171, winning the match by a score of 949-788.

The Bearcats then closed the day with an 882-621 win over Hilbert, which included the team's highest game of the day, a 228.

Dani Koehler led the team with a Baker average of 21.7 per frame on the day, a game equivalent of 217. She threw 37 strikes on the afternoon in 19 games.Â
Jessica Guesman finished with a per frame average of 20.17, throwing 22 strikes.

Lexi Cobbin had the third highest average of the day, 17.46, followed by
Meghan Christman (16.18),
Morgan Barlock (15.93),
Olivia Emmonds (15.47),
Mercedes Belch (14.19) and
Rachael Heater (14.04).
As a team, SVC finished the day with an average of 177.1, to sit atop the standings. Mount Aloysius is also 5-0, with SVC ahead by 216 in total pins. Medaille (4-1) is in third, followed by D'Youville (3-2).
The tournament will conclude on Sunday (February 2) with four matches, starting at 9AM.
