GREENWOOD, Ind. (June 16)- Six Saint Vincent women's student-athletes were selected to the College Sports Communicators At-Large Academic All District team's.
Kaylie Kurland and
Daphne Stuber from women's bowling, along with
Lucy Brayton and
Elizabeth DeLo from women's golf, and
Cassidy Rega and
Carolina Walters from women's lacrosse all picked up the honor for the Bearcats.
To be eligible in bowling, student-athletes must be in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's days of competition. In women's golf, eligible nominees must be in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's team scoring events or in the lineup at the conference championship tournament. In women's lacrosse, eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or
must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
Kurland earned her first AMCC All-Conference honor this season, being named All-AMCC Second Team. She led all bowlers in the AMCC's first round robin tournament this season with a 206 average, and carries a 186 overall number for the year. She has one of the highest single-pin spare percentages in the conference, at 86%.
Stuber finished the season with an average of 173.1, with 36.6% strikes in 760 frames. She earned All-Tournament honors at the AMCC Championships, averaging 205 in Baker games, while averaging 202 in Baker play at NCAA Nationals. Stuber was also named to the All-Tournament Team in the Grapevine Classic, finishing 5th overall with an average of 199.4.
Brayton earned Second Team All-PAC honors after finishing sixth overall over the course of the four rounds. Brayton shot an 85 in the final round with seven pars. DeLo finished in the top-20 at the PAC Championship as well, finishing 19th overall after carding a final round score of 91.
Rega was named to the PAC's Sportsmanship team during her junior season. The junior started all 15 games in net for SVC, recording 99 saves in just under 900 minutes of time on the field.
Walters played and started in 13 games for the Bearcats women's lacrosse team. She totaled 33 points, scoring 14 goals, while dishing out 19 assists. Walters also scooped up 26 ground balls and recorded 15 draw controls over the course of the season.
