SVC travels to Erie for tri-match

The Saint Vincent men's volleyball team traveled to Erie, Pennsylvania for a tri-match with Penn State-Behrend and Mount St. Joseph. The Bearcats fell in both of their matches by the final of 3-0.

In the opening match against Penn State-Behrend, Saint Vincent won the first point of the set. After that, the Lions went on a 10-3 run and claimed a 10-4 advantage. SVC tried to cut the lead but did not get any closer than five points and dropped the first set, 25-18.

In the second set, the hosts grabbed the early 7-3 lead. The Bearcats pulled within two but a run for Penn State-Behrend extended its lead to seven (14-7). Saint Vincent cut the deficit to four but the Lions held the lead throughout the set to win, 25-16.

In the third, it was all Penn State-Behrend with multiple runs of four points or more. The Lions won the set, 25-13, and the match, 3-0.

The second match of the day, Saint Vincent took on Mount St. Joseph. From the opening serve, Mount St. Joseph took control of the set. The Bearcats tried to cut the deficit but it was too large and fell in the opening set, 25-13.

The third set was similar to the second as Mount St. Joseph grabbed a 10-4 lead. Just like in the second, Saint Vincent pulled within two points but the Lions slowly closed the set and won 25-17 and won the match, 3-0.
