The Saint Vincent College men's volleyball team traveled to Erie, Pennsylvania to face Penn State-Behrend in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup. The Bearcats fell to the Lions in straight sets, 3-0.
In the opening set, Penn State-Behrend (2-2) won the first five points of the match. Saint Vincent (0-2) won the next point to get on the board, trailing 5-1. Both teams exchanged the next six points until the Lions rattled off four out of the next six points to take a 13-5 lead. Behrend went on to win the set 25-11.Â
The second set was similar to the first with the Lions taking an early lead. The Bearcats tried to cut the deficit pulling within one (9-8) but Behrend won six of the next seven points to increase their lead to six (15-9). The Lions eventually took the second set, 25-18.
In the third, Saint Vincent lost the first two points of the match. SVC tried to get back into the set with a three-point deficit (6-3), unfortunately Behrend claimed eight of the next nine points to grasp a 14-4 advantage. The Bearcats dropped the final set (25-7) and the match (3-0).

Matthew Minkin led SVC with seven kills. Minkin paced the defense with seven digs while
Matthew Furrer tallied 18 assists.
Saint Vincent continues its season on Wednesday, March 17 at Hiram College in an AMCC matchup. Start time is 7:00 p.m.
