The Saint Vincent men's volleyball team faced Hiram College for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup. The Bearcats fell to the Terriers in straight sets, 3-0.
Saint Vincent (0-3, 0-2) took control of the first set by winning five of the first seven points, Both teams went back and forth as SVC held on to a three-point lead (10-7).
Hiram (3-1, 2-0) won nine of the next 10 points to take a commanding 16-11. The Terriers never looked back as they went on to win the set, 25-18.
In the second set, both teams went back and forth until Hiram scored four-straight to take an 8-4 lead. SVC pulled within three (9-6) but the Terriers claimed 10 of the next 12 points to grasp a 17-7 lead. Saint Vincent struggled to get within nine points and eventually dropped the set, 25-12.Â
The final set was completed dominated by Hiram from start to finish to win, 25-11 and taking the match, 3-0.
Matthew Minkin led the Bearcats with nine kills while
Matthew Furrer contributed 20 assists.
Saint Vincent opens its home schedule on Saturday, March 20 against Medaille College. Start time is 1 p.m.
