The Saint Vincent baseball team faced the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Bearcats split the matchup winning game one, 10-1 and falling in game two, 4-2.
Game 1 – Saint Vincent 10, Geneva 1
Saint Vincent and Geneva remained scoreless through the first inning.
In the bottom of the second, the Bearcats added one run when
Justin Wright hit a sacrifice fly to right field, bringing home
TJ Dailey.

To open the bottom of the sixth inning, Saint Vincent added two runs. The Bearcats had the 3-0 edge over the Golden Tornadoes.

SVC had a dominant seventh as the Bearcats added seven runs in the inning.
Jimmy Malone reached on a fielder's choice, bringing in
Tim Beimel and Wright.
Jordan Sabol singled to center field advancing to second on a throw and Malone scored. The Golden Tornadoes made a pitching change after the first four batters.
Zack Barberich singled to center field as
Joe Rudzinski scored.
Matt Evans reached first on a fielder's choice which caused Sabol to score. Barberich and Evans also tallied a run in the inning. The Bearcats led 10-0 heading to the top of the eighth.

Geneva added one run in the eighth inning. However, the dominant seventh inning from SVC raised them victorious over Geneva in game one (10-1).
Sabol, Barberich and Dailey finished the game with two hits and four Saint Vincent players each tallied one hit. Eight Bearcats drove in at least one run. SVC finished with 10 total hits.
Tom Bash started on the mound going seven strong innings, allowing six hits with no runs and striking out 13 Golden Tornadoes.

Game 2 – Geneva 4, Saint Vincent 2
Geneva opened the scoring to start game two. The Golden Tornadoes led the Bearcats 1-0 through the top of the fourth inning.

SVC added two runs in the bottom of the fourth as
Ben Menarchek walked to start the inning.
Brady Duricko singled to right field, advancing Menarchek to second. Both Duricko and Menarchek would move bases on a wild pitch. Wright singled through the left side as Menarchek scored.
Nate Roebuck flied out to left field on a sacrifice fly, bringing in Duricko to score. The Bearcats led 2-1.

The Golden Tornadoes added one run in the fifth inning, tying the contest at two apiece.
Geneva would go on to score two runs in the top of the sixth, claiming the victory in game two, 4-2.
Wright tallied a total of two hits while Duricko and
Jeremy Kruezweiser each had one hit.
Menarchek and Sabol added the two Bearcat runs.

Tyler Chrise picked up the loss going one inning, allowing two runs on three hits.
Saint Vincent (13-10, 12-6) travels to Waynesburg for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 24. First pitch is 1 p.m.
