The Saint Vincent College baseball team hosted Waynesburg University for a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Bearcats fell in both games, 8-7 and 11-1.
Game 1 - Waynesburg 8, Saint Vincent 7 (8 Inn.)
Both teams were held scoreless in the first as Saint Vincent looked to strike in the bottom of the second.

Justin Wright followed with a sacrifice fly to center as
Jayke Saiani tagged from third as the Bearcats led 2-0.
Waynesburg captured its first lead of the game as it scored three runs on two hits with a SVC error. In the bottom half of the inning, the Bearcats had an answer of its own.
Zach Barberich hit a sacrifice fly to left as
Jordan Sabol tagged up. Two at-bats later, Saiani drove a ball through the right side of the infield to plate
Matt Evans. Saint Vincent led 4-3 after the third.
The Jackets recaptured the lead when two runs scored on a two-out single to left center. Evans tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with a RBI single as
Ben Menarchek scored from second.
In the top of the fifth, Chris Lee entered the lineup for Waynesburg and doubled to right field to give a 7-5 lead to Waynesburg.
SVC looked to respond in the bottom of the sixth when Sabol tripled to right to plate Menarchek. In the next at-bat, Evans hit the third sacrifice fly of the game for the Bearcats to bring home Sabol. The score was even at seven heading into the seventh.
Both teams went down in order in the seventh as the game headed to the eighth. With the bases loaded and two outs in the top half of the inning, the Jackets drew a walk to take an 8-7 lead.
The Bearcats tried keep the game going but ultimately fell by one-run.
Sabol, Dailey and Saiani finished with two hits while Evans drove in two runs.
Tom Bash started the on the mound throwing four and a third innings, giving up six runs (four earned) on seven hits with five strikeouts. Evans was credited with the loss as he tossed three and two-thirds innings in relief, allowing one run on two hits and giving up four walks.
Game 2 - Waynesburg 11, Saint Vincent 1
Waynesburg opened the game scoring four runs on four hits. SVC got on the board as Sabol scored on a wild pitch. However, the Jackets took control of the game.
The visitors scored seven runs on 10 hits over the next six innings. The Bearcats had various chances to score but were unsuccessful and fell by 10 runs.
Brenden Lavely started on the mound, pitching one and a third innings allowing six runs (four earned) on six hits in the loss.
Saint Vincent returns to Bearcat Ballfield to face Westminster College in a PAC doubleheader on Saturday, May 1. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
