LATROBE, Pa. - The Saint Vincent women's tennis team secured a senior day win against PAC foe Geneva, 7-2.
The Bearcats raced out to a 3-0 lead in doubles with 8-1 wins coming at first and second doubles before Lauren Hartner and Trinity Miller teamed for an 8-2 win in the third flight.
In singles play Abby Donnelly controlled play on her way to a 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles. The clinching point was secured at the top flight by Maura Skelley. The senior cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory against her opponent and in doing so snapped a seven match losing streak against the Golden Tornados for SVC. Also winning for the Bearcats in straight sets were Angela Popovich and Miller at second and third singles respectively.
The win has Saint Vincent sitting at 2-4 (1-3 PAC) on the year. The Bearcats return to action on Monday, Sept. 27, at 4 p.m. when they take on California University of Pennsylvania at home.
