MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 28) - Sophomore
Tim Patterson's first-place finish in the 10,000-meter run highlighted the opening day of the 2022 Presidents' Athletic Conference Outdoor Track nd Field Championships, held at West Virginia University's Mylan Park.
Patterson claimed gold in a career-best time of 33:19.95, three seconds ahead of second place and 10 seconds faster than his previous career mark.
He was one of three Bearcats in the 10K, with freshman
Joey Jafarace placing 10th in the 19-runner field in 34:59.51 and classmate
August Anderson turning in a 12th-place time of 35:29.30.
Saint Vincent closed the opening day of the two-day conference championship in seventh place with 10 points.
