LEXINGTON, Va. (Mar. 21)- The Saint Vincent men's track and field team opened their outdoor season at the Washington and Lee Carnival this weekend.
Daniel Maddock broke the Bearcats record in the 100-meter dash. Maddock raced a record breaking time of 11.08 seconds for the Bearcats in the race to finish 12th overall.
Bailey Simon finished just behind Maddock in a time of 11.14 seconds.
Maddock also picked up the program record in the 200-meter dash as well. He raced a record breaking time of 22.36 in the race to finish 11th. Once again, Simon finished just behind Maddock in a time of 22.57, which is his personal best.
Jalani Campbell broke the Bearcats program record in the triple jump. Campbell picked up a record mark of 12.52m to finish sixth overall in the event.
The records continued to shatter for SVC as their 4x100 relay team picked up a program record as well. The team of
P.J. McNeal, along with Maddock, Campbell, and Simon broke the program record with a time of 42.67 seconds to finish third overall in the race.
Jordan Raynor added a third place finish in the 5K in a time of 15:52.04 for Saint Vincent, while
Will Stickman finished fifth (4:11.62) in the 1500-meter race and eighth (2:00.23), which is a personal best in the 800-meter race.
McNeal also added a seventh place (50.15) in the 400-meter race.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Friday, March 27 as they compete at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Friday.
