Mid-distance contingent leads Bearcats at Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio (May 12) – The Saint Vincent men's and women's track and field teams received a number of strong performances as they continued their seasons at the Harrison Dillard Twilight, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University.

The middle-distance contingent shined for the Bearcat women, highlighted by its performance in the 1,500-meter run. Sydney Green again led the way, placing ninth in a field of 30 runners with a time of 4:47.17, less than one second shy of her previous career best and school-record time. Lauren Brennan also had a big race for the Bearcats, posting a time of 5:12.84, seven seconds faster than her previous career best.

Competing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Alissa Beam recorded a season-best time of 12:09.74, just two seconds off of her personal best and the sixth-fastest steeple in team history.

Joey Bujdos had the top individual finish for the SVC men, placing fourth in a field of 45 in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.21, the second-fastest performance of his career. Tyler Laughery ran a season-best 1:57.79 to place 20th, while Aiden Jackson recorded a time fo 2:01.62.

Tim Patterson turned in a career-best performance in the 1,500-meter run, placing 10th in a field of 35 runners. With his time of 3:57.28, Patterson established a new career best, while it also marked the second-fastest 1,500 run by a Presidents' Athletic Conference athlete this season, and ranks eighth best in NCAA Division III's Mid-Atlantic Region.

Representing the Bearcats in the shot put, Auggie Frohnen posted a heave of 12.28 meters (40' 3.5") to place 15th in a strong field of 22 student-athletes.

The Bearcats will now have a 72-hour respite before returning to action on Monday, May 16, when they travel across the state to take part in the Swarthmore College Last Chance, hosted by Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.
