BETHLEHEM, Pa. (May 19) – The Saint Vincent men's and women's track and field teams received a host of strong performances in the 800-meter run at the 2022 All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Moravian University.
Senior
Sydney Green was SVC's first competitor on the warm afternoon in northeastern Pennsylvania, as she earned an 11th-place finish in a field of 29 women in the 800 with a time of 2:18.05. It was her third-fastest career time in the event, as well as the third-best performance in team history.
On the men's side, Saint Vincent placed a pair of runners in the top five of the 33-runner field.
Joey Bujdos led the way, placing fourth in a time of 1:53.66, a shade ahead of teammate
Tim Patterson, who turned in a fifth-place time of 1:54.35. For Budos, it marked his third straight sub-1:54 800 performance, while for Patterson, it was a career-best at the distance and came less than 24 hours following his win in the 5,000-meter run.
Teammate
Tyler Laughery's time of 1:57.46 in the 800 marked a season-best, and the second-fastest of his career. The Bearcat men finished 18th out of 50 teams in the team standings.
