MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 7) – Ten days after competing at Mylan Park in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, a contingent of Bearcat track and field athletes returned to the facility to compete in the West Virginia University Last Chance.
The Bearcats' best performance came in the 800-meter run.
Joey Bujdos continued his stellar spring by placing third in a 24-runner field in a time of 1:54.45. Running at the distance for the first time this season,
Tim Patterson was a second SVC runner to place in the top-10, taking eighth in a time of 1:56.70.
Lauren Brennan competed in her first 1,500-meter run, turning in a time of 5:19.74.
In the shot put,
Auggie Frohnen narrowly missed breaking his own team record, with his heave of 13.14 meters (43' 1 ½") placing fifth, just seven inches off of his previous best.
The Bearcats will now have a six-day layoff before taking part in another last chance meet, traveling to Berea, Ohio, to take part in the Baldwin Wallace Harrison Dillard Twilight on Friday, May 13, beginning at 2 p.m.
