CALIFORNIA, Pa (Sept. 19)- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team traveled to California, Pa., and fell to Division II California University of Pa. 6-1.

In doubles, the Bearcats won at the No. 1 spot, with
Carolina Walters and
Angela Popovich taking down the number one doubles team of California, 7-5. In No. 2 doubles, Saint Vincent lost a tight one with
Abby Donnelly and
Lydia Lieb falling 6-7 to Carmen Duran and Teodora Iacob from the Vulcans. In number three double California won 6-2.

In singles, the Bearcats took one of the matches. In the No. 6 singles spot, Donnelly defeated Sierra Everett, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0, to get Saint Vincent on the board. In the No. 1 singles spot, Walters battled Leandra Guldimann, but was ultimately defeated, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0, while Lieb battled in the No. 4 spots, but fell 6-4, 6-2.

The Bearcats return to action on Thursday, Sept. 22, when they travel to New Wilmington to take on Westminster at 4 p.m. It will be the Bearcats' first of three matches in a four-day span.
