CANTON, Ohio (Nov. 17)- The Saint Vincent men's swimming team sits in fourth place out of 14 teams after the second day of the Malone Invitational.
Nickolas Jackman was strong for Saint Vincent after the opening two days of competition. On Thursday night, Jackman placed fourth in the 1650-freestyle event, swimming a time of 16:46.91.
Also in the 1650,
Jacob Bacasa finished in seventh place for SVC, swimming a time of 17:32.52.
Jackman followed that up second-place finish in the 400-yard IM, swimming a time of 4:21.18 to finish second in the finals. In the qualifiers, he was the fifth see, improving 16 seconds on his time in the finals.
Jacob Dzurica was solid for SVC as well. Dzurica scored a win for the Bearcats in the 50-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 20.63 in the event. He also recorded a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.48.
Dzurica concluded day two being a part of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished in third place. He teamed up with
Alex Leskovansky,
Colin Spehar, and
Liam Randolph in the event.
Randolph also picked up an individual third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming a time of 57.76 and, while Leskovansky recorded a top-10, seventh place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.81 a seven second improvement from his qualifier race.
Spehar on the other hand raced to a top-ten, ninth place finish in the 100-yard butterfly event.
The Bearcats conclude the Malone Invitational tomorrow, Saturday, November 18. Qualifier races are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with the finals starting at 5 p.m.
