The Saint Vincent women's bowling team recorded a 4-1 record on the second day of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference tournament, taking place at Hillview Lanes in Greensburg.
The Bearcats started slowly, falling behind Pitt-Bradford in game one. SVC didn't claim the lead until the 7th frame, then pulled away to an 821-761 victory.Â
Olivia Emmonds ended the game with four consecutive strikes, finishing with a 201. Up next was New Jersey City University, and the Bearcats took control of the game early, en route to a 901-788 win.Â
Sabine Strickland led the way with a 196, while
Monique Koehler finished with a 182, and
Kaitlyn Morrison added a 179. It was the team's 25th consecutive win in NCAA competition.
However, the streak would end in the third game of the afternoon, as SVC faced nationally ranked Medaille University. In a closely contested match, the lead bounced back and forth throughout, but Medaille picked up the win by 14 pins, 901-887. Strickland again led the way for SVC with a 211, while
Jackie Koehler finished with a 189.
SVC bounced back in the next game, taking the lead in the third frame against Mount Aloysius College, and pulling away to a 140-pin victory, 895-755.Â
Abby Justice and
Jackie Koehler both finished at 209. The team then ended the day with an 852-629 win over first-year program William Smith College. Justice had the top score (221), and
Jackie Koehler ended with a 187.
The Bearcats are now 27-2 on the season, and will conclude the AMCC tournament on Sunday, starting at 9AM. Â
