ORLANDO, Fla. (March 5) – The Saint Vincent women's tennis team concluded its spring trip break in Florida with a match against Northwestern (MN) on the clay courts at the USTA National Training Center.
The Eagles defeated the Bearcats 6-3.
The Bearcats trailed 2-1 after doubles play, as
Carolina Walters and
Angela Popovich teamed up to win at first doubles. Walters and Popovich won by a score of 8-4, scoring Saint Vincent their lone doubles win.
In singles, it was the Walters and Popovich show once again. Walters won in straight sets in first singles and Popovich won in a third set tiebreaker at second singles, but it wasn't enough as Northwestern came away with the win.
