Football travels to Case Western Reserve

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Oct. 12) – The Saint Vincent College football team was defeated, 49-0, at Presidents' Athletic Conference co-leader Case Western Reserve under the lights at DiSanto Field.
 
Case Western Reserve (5-0, 5-0 PAC) found the end zone in each of its first five possessions of the game, while holding Saint Vincent (1-5, 1-5 PAC) in check, limiting the Bearcats to just 97 yards of total offense.
 
Senior linebacker Wiley Purry again paced the Saint Vincent defense with 12 total tackles, marking the sixth time in as many games this season in which he amassed 10 or more stops. Junior defensive tackle Josiah Weyandt added eight tackles, while senior safety KeShawn Davis amassed seven tackles, with one tackle-for-loss.
 
Junior defensive tackle Payton Hrehovchak recorded a quarterback sack for the Bearcats.
 
Offensively, sophomore running back Dontae Sanders gained a team-high 21 yards on the ground, while freshman Julian Walker ran for 17 yards and junior quarterback Luke Levendosky and freshman running back Isaiah Sosak each gained 16 rushing yards.
 
Sophomore Jaret Yonker started under center for Saint Vincent, completing three of five pass attempts for 25 yards.
 
Case Western Reserve outgained Saint Vincent 529-97 in total offense, with 353 of the Spartans' yards coming through the air.
 
Spartan quarterback Alex Fromberg completed 22 of 28 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns, while Andy Kavcic paced the CWRU ground game with 60 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Noah Coyne hauled in six receptions for 61 yards and two touchdowns to top the Case Western Reserve receiving corps.
 
The Bearcats will be back on the road next Saturday, Oct. 19, traveling to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, to take on PAC foe Westminster beginning at 1 p.m.
