LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 4)- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team cruised to a 6-1 victory against La Roche on Friday night.

The Bearcats (11-2, 4-2 PAC) picked up the lone double's points after three wins, before winning five of the six singles points over La Roche (0-8, 0-4 PAC) as well.

Abby Donnelly and
Lydia Lieb won first for the Bearcats in doubles play with a quick 6-0 win.
Sydney McWreath and
Rebecca Kurylo followed with a 6-1 victory in third doubles to clinch the doubles point for SVC, giving them a 1-0 lead.

After the Bearcats already won the doubles point,
Rachel Zgurich and
Isabella Lane earned a comeback 7-5 win in the top doubles spot.

In singles action,
Julia Runk put Saint Vincent up 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the sixth singles spot.
Marisa Hooper followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win in third singles.

Bella Baumgardner clinched the win for SVC with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in number five singles to give the Bearcats a 4-0 advantage.

Saint Vincent went on to win fourth singles and first singles as well. In number four singles,
Caroline O'Connor earned a 6-0, 6-0 win to increase the SVC lead to 5-0.

Carolina Walters won SVC their sixth point of the afternoon with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the top singles spot.
Emily Pierce was defeated in a tough back-and-forth match in the second singles spot as she fell 5-7, 4-6 to end the match.

The Bearcats will return to action on Monday, October 7 when they travel to Grove City for a PAC matchup. The match is a makeup from September 27, which was postponed due to rain and is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in Grove City on Monday.
