LATROBE, Pa. (Dec. 7)- The Saint Vincent women's swim team breezed past Washington and Jefferson by a final score of 172-110 on Saturday afternoon.

The Bearcats opened the afternoon with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Fallyn Zembiec,
Valerie Clabaugh,
Abby Leskovansky, and
Sarah Alexander swam to the victory for a Saint Vincent in a time of 1:57.29.

In the first individual event of the afternoon,
Rachel Hutchinson earned a win in the 1000-yard freestyle event, racing to a victory in a time of 11:43.83.
Brook McDermott finished third in the event with a time of 12:05.29 as well for Saint Vincent.

Leskovansky followed with a win in the 200-yard freestyle event, racing to a first-place time of 2:00.81 for the Bearcats.

In the next individual event,
Cecilia Hickin placed second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.09) and
Ashley Thiel recorded a third-place finish with a time of 1:10.95 for the Bearcats.

Deanna Miller got the Bearcats back on the board with another victory as she won the 100-yard breaststroke. Miller swam a time of 1:13.92 to earn the four second victory.

Lily Holsey and
Teresa Grimm placed second and third respectively in the 200-yard butterfly. Holsey swam a time of 2:43.85 and Grimm raced to a time of 2:45.03.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Zembiec and Clabaugh earned second and third place results. Zembiec swam to a time of 26.62, while Clabaugh raced a time of 27.56 for the Bearcats. They had the same two results in the 100-yard freestyle as well as with Zembiec swimming a time of 59.41 and Clabaugh recorded a time of 1:01.63.

Hickin and
Emma Morgan earned second and third place finishes as well, coming in the 200-yard backstroke. Hickin raced to a time of 2:30.55, while Morgan swam to a 2:41.33 result.

Grimm followed by winning the 200-yard breaststroke, swimming to a winning time of 2:45.45 for the Bearcats to win the event by just over one second. Holsey finished behind her in the race, swimming a time of 2:47.97.

Alexander and Miller went 1-2 in the 500-yard freestyle with Alexander winning the event in a time of 5:46.16. Miller raced to a time of 5:56.60 to finish second in the event.

Leskovansky picked up her second win of the afternoon in the 100-yard butterfly, racing to a winning time of 1:00.99. Hutchinson finished just behind her in the event with a time of 1:08.55 and Thiel finished third in a time of 1:10.23.

Zembiec won the final individual event of the afternoon with a win in the 200-yard IM, swimming a time of 2:27.27. Grimm finished second in a time of 2:28.13 and Alexander placed third, racing a time of 2:31.67 for Saint Vincent.

The Bearcats won the final relay event of the afternoon as well. Hickin, McDermott, Clabaugh, and Leskovansky teamed up to win the event in a time of 1:47.35 to close out the big win against the Bearcats PAC rivals.

The Bearcats will take the next month off for the Christmas holiday before returning to action on Saturday, January 18 when they host Chatham in a meet at the Resnick Pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and senior day festivities will take place prior to the meet.
