HILTON HEAD, S.C. (Mar. 6)- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team earned a 7-2 win against Buena Vista University in Hilton Head on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bearcats (11-6) won two of the three doubles matches over Buena Vista (2-13) and followed that up with five wins in singles, including the 50
th career win for SVC junior,
Abby Donnelly.

After falling in number one doubles (2-8),
Carolina Walters and
Emily Pierce picked up the Bearcats first win of the afternoon in number two double with an 8-2 win. Saint Vincent picked up another win in number three doubles as Donnelly and
Bella Baumgardner earned an 8-2 win to give Saint Vincent a 2-1 lead heading into singles.

Walters earned the Bearcats their first win in singles as Walters defeated Macy Weller of Buena Vista, 6-1. 6-0. The Bearcats fell in number two singles, but
Marisa Hooper answered the call for SVC with a win in number four singles, by scores of 6-4, 3-6, and 10-7 in the tiebreaker to give the Bearcats a 4-2 lead.

Pierce clinched the match for the Bearcats in number three singles, with a 7-5, 6-7(5-7), and 10-7 win in the tiebreaker to give the Bearcats the win.

SVC added two insurance wins in number five singles as Donnelly won her 50
th career match, 7-6(7-4), 3-6, and 12-10 in the tiebreaker.
Rebecca Kurylo gave Saint Vincent their seventh win of the afternoon as she defeated Abby King by a score of 6-0, 6-7(6-7), before winning the tiebreaker, 10-5.

The Bearcats conclude their spring break trip to Hilton Head with a matchup against Lancaster Bible College, tomorrow, Thursday, March 7. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
