Men's tennis blanks Bobcats

LATROBE, Pa. (April 13) The Saint Vincent men's tennis team improved to 11-4 on the year with a 9-0 non-conference win against crosstown rival, Pitt-Greensburg. The win marks the 15th straight for the Bearcats in the Battle for Route 30.

SVC got started early with an 8-1 win at first doubles from Matthew Sadusky and Jack Citrone. Shortly thereafter the green and gold claimed matching 8-3 wins at second and third doubles to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.

Sadusky was a double dipper and first off in singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the second flight to put SVC up 4-0 in the match. Freshman Brady Johnson sealed the Bearcats netters' victory with a 6-4, 6-1 win at fourth singles. August Lawrence was next off with a thrilling comeback win at third singles, 4-6, 6-1, 10-1. Citrone, making his debut at the top singles flight, put the Bearcats up 7-0 with a 6-4, 6-3 win. The win was the 50th of the Junior's career. J.T. Gockel claimed the 8th point of the day for SVC with a 6-2, 7-6(4) win at fifth singles before Freshman Will Hinkson claimed a 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 win to round out the day for Saint Vincent.

The Bearcats will have a quick turnaround and travel to Hood College tomorrow for their final non-conference match of the year. First serves are slated for 1 p.m.
