FREDERICK, Md. (Apr. 14)- The Saint Vincent men's tennis team defeated Hood, 8-1 in a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon.

The Bearcats (12-4, 3-1 PAC) won all three doubles matches, before taking five of the six matches in singles play from Hood (0-9) as well.

In number one doubles,
Braden Yokopenic and
Brady Johnson earned a win at number one doubles.
August Lawrence and
Jack Citrone earned an 8-1 win in number two doubles to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Saint Vincent earned a forfeit win in number three doubles to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.

In singles, the Bearcats won at number two, three, four, five, and six singles. The lone defeat came at number one singles as
Brian Lee lost a tight match to Tyler James of Hood.

Lawrence earned his second win of the afternoon with a 6-4, 6-2 win at number two singles over Isaac Hatch of the Blazers.

Citrone won at number three singles by scores of 6-1. 6-2 and
Brady Johnson earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at number four singles.
William Hinkson won at number five singles by scores of 6-2, 6-0 and
Brennen Novotney won by forfeit at number six singles to seal the 8-1 victory.

The Bearcats return to PAC play on Monday, April 15, traveling to Waynesburg for a matchup against the Yellow Jackets. Doubles play will begin the afternoon with at 4 p.m. and singles play will follow immediately after.
