BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Apr. 23)- The Saint Vincent baseball team split a doubleheader on the road at Geneva on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bearcats (9-21, 6-8 PAC) were downed in game one by a final score of 9-3 and followed with a 13-4 win over Geneva (14-18, 4-12 PAC) in game two.

Game One- Geneva 9, Saint Vincent 3
Â
The GT's scored five runs in the first inning and added one in each of the fourth and fifth innings to take a 7-0 lead. Saint Vincent scored all three of their runs in the sixth before Geneva added two in the sixth to secure the win.

Alex Hess,
Dylan Schmude, and
Dalton Nicklow each tallied two hits in the win for the Bearcats.

Jimmy Davis,
Vincent Amatucci,
Nolan Hurd, and
Matthew Lockwich all had hits for SVC as well. Davis and Schmude both had RBIs.

Jacob Hess,
Andrew Stano, and
Evan Wiewiora all pitched scoreless innings in relief for the Bearcats in the loss.

Geneva shutout the Bearcats over the first five innings, gaining a 7-0 lead to that point. In the sixth, Saint Vincent had three RBI singles to score their runs.

Lockwich's came first and Schmude and Davis followed after to cut the lead to just four at 7-3. Geneva added two insurance runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 9-3 lead.

The teams went scoreless in the final three innings as the Bearcats were downed in the opening game.

Game Two- Saint Vincent 13, Geneva 4

Geneva quickly took a 4-0 lead in the first two innings and held that lead through the third inning. Saint Vincent tied it up with a four run fourth and added three runs in the sixth and eighth and one in the ninth to secure the 13-4 win and the split.

Derek Hald led the Bearcats going 4-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
Ethan Parks and Amatucci each added two hits for SVC.
Kyle Belmont had a hit and RBI, while
Garrett Navitsky also had a hit for SVC.

Billy Perroz,
Lane Golkosky, and Hess all had hits for Saint Vincent as well.

Sean McAleer picked up the win on the mound for SVC, pitching eight innings, giving up four runs on nine hits. He also struck out nine and walked two batters as well.

Alex Polito pitched a scoreless inning in relief, striking out two batters.

Geneva led 4-0 after the opening inning, but the Bearcats tied it up in the fourth.

Golkosky got the Bearcats on the board with an RBI walk and Parks followed with a two-RBI single, cutting the Geneva lead 4-3. Belmont tied the game with an RBI-single, scoring Golkosky to tie it at 4-4.

After a scoreless bottom of the inning, Saint Vincent took the lead in the fifth. Hald scored Perroz with an RBI-single, giving the Bearcats a 5-4 lead.
Devin Bonine followed with an RBI-fielder's choice to give the Bearcats a 6-4 lead.

The Bearcats continued to pile on in the later innings as well. SVC scored seven runs between the sixth and ninth innings to secure the 13-4 lead.

SVC scored their 13 runs on 13 hits, while Geneva scored their four runs on nine hits, committing three errors.
