Â
It was an evenly played first 40 minutes of the second half, before a late push from SVC.
Ethan Bridges then sent a ball into the middle of the crease, and it was picked up by Speretta who dished it off to Torres who put the ball in the back of the net to cut the Fredonia lead to 2-1 with just less than five minutes to go.
Â
The Bearcats kept the pressure up for the final four minutes but were unable to find the back of the net to tie the game as Fredonia escaped with the victory.
Â
Despite being a goal short on the scoreboard, the Bearcats outshot Fredonia by a 19-14 margin, including a 12-9 margin in the second half. However, Fredonia outshot the Bearcats 8-6 in shots on goal.
Â
Corner kicks were 3-1 in favor of the Bearcats and the Blue Devils committed 14 fouls in comparison to 12 by SVC.
