GROVE CITY, Pa. (Sept. 20)- The Saint Vincent women's volleyball team was defeated 3-0 on the road at Grove City on Friday night.

The Bearcats (4-6) lost by set scores of 21-25, 16-25, and 18-25 to the Wolverines (7-5) in the non-conference matchup between the PAC teams.

Vivian Poach had a solid night for the Bearcats as she recorded a team-high ten kills, while also adding ten assists and a team-best eight digs as well.

Jessica Hughes added six kills, two assists, and five digs for the Bearcats.
Madie Eagler had a team-high 15 assists, while
Stacie Ramos recorded six digs.
Dakota Hershberger recorded two blocks and
Aubrey Siwula totaled a game-high four service aces.

The Bearcats kept it close in the opening set as the set was tied 18-18. Grove City then scored three points in a row and never looked back as they took the opening set (21-25) and the Bearcats were trailing 1-0.

It was back-and-forth early on in the second set, with SVC holding a slight 9-8 advantage. The Wolverines then scored eight of the next nine points to take control with a 16-10 lead. Saint Vincent was unable to catch up as they fell for the second set in a row (16-25) as they were trailing 2-0.

Grove City closed the match out in the third set. Saint Vincent led 2-1 in the set, but Grove City went on to take a 4-2 lead and never lost the lead in the set again as they won the third set (18-25), as the Bearcats fell on the road.

Saint Vincent recorded 27 kills, seven service aces, 27 assists, and 39 digs as a team. The Wolverines on the other hand totaled 39 kills, four service aces, 35 assists, and 47 digs.

It's a quick turnaround for SVC as they will play two matches tomorrow, Saturday, September 20 both being hosted at Westminster College. The Bearcats will first take on Wooster at 2 p.m. before taking on Westminster in New Wilmington at 4 p.m.
