MEDIA, Pa. (Sept. 21) – The Saint Vincent women's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 victory in non-conference action on the road at Penn State-Brandywine.
The victory marked the third straight for the Bearcats, who improve to 6-1 on the season.
The Bearcats took two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point, with the No. 2 tandem of
Lydia Lieb and
Abby Donnelly earning a convincing 6-0 win, and SVC's No. 3 pairing of
Julia Runk and
Isabella Lane winning their doubles bout by forfeit.
Saint Vincent would then go on to sweep all six singles matches.
In the No. 1 spot,
Carolina Walters improved to 7-0 with a quick 6-2, 6-0 decision, while Lane took the No. 2 singles victory with a 6-1, 6-0 decision.
Emily Pierce and
Rebecca Kurylo both picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, while
Caroline O'Connor and
Ashley Thiel won by forfeit in the No. 5 and No. 6 spots.
The Bearcats will now have a quick turnaround as they wrap up their weekend road trip with a 12:30 p.m. Sunday matinee match at McDaniel College.
