LATROBE, Pa. (Jan. 18)- The Saint Vincent women's swimming team earned a 184-85 victory at home against Chatham on senior day. The win was the 100th career victory on the women's side for Saint Vincent Head Coach Josh Gurekovich.

The Bearcats were victorious in all but one event to cruise to the victory. To open the afternoon, Saint Vincent earned a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Sarah Alexander, Lily Holsey, Abby Leskovansky, and Emma Morgan swam to the victory with a time of 2:00.17. The Bearcats also had the second place finish in the event as well as Kimber Randolph, Valerie Clabaugh, Teresa Grimm, and Cayla Connolly finished in second place with a time of 2:02.24.

Rachel Hutchinson won the first individual event of the afternoon as she won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:40.50. Brook McDermott finished in third in the event with a time of 12:05.01.

Leskovansky followed with an individual win in the 200-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 1:59.76. Kimber Randolph followed by picking up another individual win for Saint Vincent in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming a time of 1:07.29. Ashley Thiel finished in second in the event, swimming a time of 1:10.09.

Grimm earned an individual win in the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:15.40. Holsey finished in third place in the event with a time of 1:17.23.

In the 200-yard butterfly, Clabaugh earned a second place result with a time of 2:47.82. Emma Martz followed by winning the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.84, while Alexander finished in second in the event in a time of 27.29. Martz then earned her second individual win in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 58.74 for the Bearcats. 

McDermott finished in third place in the event (1:01.73) and Abigail Stewart finished fourth in a time of 1:10.78. Hutchinson then won her second individual event, winning the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:24.54. Randolph finished behind Hutchinson in second place, swimming a time of 2:32.84 for the Bearcats.

Clabaugh then won the 200-yard breaststroke for Saint Vincent, swimming a time of 2:47.43. Holsey finished in second place with a time of 2:50.21. In the 500-yard freestyle, Alexander won the event in a time of 5:39.81. Thiel finished in third place in the event, swimming a time of 6:21.07.

Leskovansky and Grimm followed with two more individual wins for Saint Vincent. Leskovansky won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:00.73, while Grimm won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:24.62. Hutchinson finished just behind Grimm in the 200-yard IM, swimming a time of 2:25.98, while Clabaugh finished in third place with a time of 2:36.21.

In the final event of the day, Alexander, Hutchinson, Martz, and Leskovansky won the 200-yard freestyle relay for the Bearcats to close out the win.

Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, January 25 with a trip to Westminster. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in New Wilmington.
