Men's golf sits in sixth place after opening two rounds of PAC Championship

WARREN, Ohio (Oct. 14)- The Saint Vincent men's golf team placed sixth after the opening two rounds of the Presidents Athletic Conference Golf Championship at Avalon Lakes Golf Club.

The Bearcats recorded two-day scores of 313 and 317 for a total of 630. Westminster and Thiel finished just ahead of SVC (t-4th) with two-day totals of 626. After the first two rounds, Allegheny leads the tournament after a team total of 600.

Matt Edwards was SVC's top finisher in the opening two rounds after shooting rounds of 77 and 79 to finish tied for 14th. Edwards carded an eagle and four birdies over his opening two rounds.

Brendan Cooley and Logan Clark finished tied for 16th overall. Cooley shot rounds of 76 and 81, while Clark carded an 80 and 77 for SVC. Cooley totaled seven birdies over the two rounds, while Clark carded an eagle and four birdies.

Owen Miele finished t-28th after shooting rounds of 85 and 80. Miele carded four birdies across the two rounds.

David Newsom shot an 80 and 94 to round out the Bearcats scoring. Newsom recorded two birdies over the opening two rounds.

The Bearcats will compete in the final two rounds of the championship in the spring to conclude the PAC Golf Championship Tournament.
