GROVE CITY, Pa. (Feb. 20)- Saint Vincent junior men's swimmer
Jacob Dzurica highlighted a solid day for the Bearcats at day two of the PAC Championship Meet.
Dzurica broke two Saint Vincent school records during the day for the Bearcats. He opened the morning prelims by breaking the school record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.08 seconds, which is also an NCAA B-Cut time. As the top seed, he secured the PAC Championship later in the day in the event, swimming a time of 20.10 seconds this time around.
He also recorded a school record breaking time in his leg of the Bearcats second place 400-yard medley relay team. He recorded a recorded breaking time of 49.67 seconds, swimming his 100-yard backstroke leg for the Bearcats. He teamed up with
Liam Randolph,
Alex Leskovansky, and
Robert Harrington to finish as the PAC runners-up.
Harrington was solid for Saint Vincent as well. The senior recorded a tip-five finish in the 500-yard freestyle event, swimming a time of 4:56.03 in the final. He swam a time of 4:52.18 in the prelims of the event earlier in the day.Â
Randolph also added a top five finish in the 200-yard IM event for Saint Vincent. Randolph swam a time of 1:58.43 for SVC, about half a second faster than his prelim time of 1:58.99.
The Bearcats currently sit in third place after the first two days of the championship meet. Washington and Jefferson sits in second place, while Grove City holds the lead.
The Bearcats return to action tomorrow, Friday, February 21 to compete in day three of the PAC Championship Meet at Grove City. The meet is scheduled to begin with prelims at 10 a.m., followed by the finals beginning at 5:30 p.m. later in the day.
