Latrobe, Pa. (March 17)- The Saint Vincent College football program is proud to announce the hiring of Brandon Peluso as its new Defensive Line Coach and Co-Special Teams Coordinator for the Bearcats.
Peluso brings an extensive background in defensive coaching and player development, having spent several years at the collegiate level refining high-energy, disciplined defensive units.
Peluso arrives at Saint Vincent after spending two seasons at PAC foe Allegheny College. He was the Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach with the Gators. Under Peluso's guidance, the Gators Special Teams units improved from the bottom of league in net punt average to fourth in the conference forcing 24 fair catches and giving up less than two yards per return.
The Allegheny punt return unit scored two touchdowns and blocked one punt on the year. During his time at Allegheny he coached two All PAC Defensive Lineman and two All PAC Specialists. Prior to Allegheny Peluso spent four seasons at Marietta College, where he served as the Defensive Line Coach for the Pioneers. During his tenure, he was instrumental in developing a dominant defensive front, coaching multiple All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American players. Among them was Marietta's all-time sack leader, Drake Neuberger, who earned five different All-America honors, as well as standout defensive tackle Kyle Gallagher, the Region IV Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2021. Under Peluso's leadership, the Pioneers' defensive line was one of the most disruptive units in Division III, ranking second nationally in sacks per game (3.90) during the 2022 season. His expertise in defensive line techniques, pass rush strategies, and player development contributed significantly to the program's defensive success.
Prior to his time at Marietta, Peluso spent two seasons coaching at Wilmington College, where he worked with both linebackers and defensive linemen. His experience across multiple defensive positions has allowed him to develop well-rounded, fundamentally sound defensive units that emphasize physicality, discipline, and technical precision.
Peluso was a four-year member of the Muskingum University football program, playing three seasons on the defensive line before transitioning to center for his senior year. His experience on both sides of the ball gives him a unique perspective as a coach, allowing him to help players anticipate offensive tendencies and adjust their techniques accordingly. He graduated from Muskingum in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and a minor in Sociology.
Peluso resides in Irwin, Pa. with his wife Chavonne and daughter Adrianna.
