GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 19)- Saint Vincent junior men's swimmer
Jacob Dzurica became the third men's swimmer in program history to earn All-American honors at the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet on Wednesday night.
Dzurica placed eighth in the country in the 50-yard freestyle event. He swam a time of 20.08 seconds in route to his eighth place finish, which qualified him to become an All-American.
The junior already had an impressive day after the prelims. Dzurica broke the Presidents Athletic Conference record and Saint Vincent program record with a time of 19.82 seconds in the prelims to finish in sixth place.
Dzurica joins Jacob Davis and Zach Baum as the only swimmers in program history to earn the impressive achievement.
Dzurica will compete in two more events at the championship, competing in the 100-yard backstroke on Friday, March 21 and the 100-yard freestyle to conclude the championships on Saturday, March 22.
