BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (March 19)- The Saint Vincent men's volleyball team fell to Geneva by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday night in Beaver Falls.
Saint Vincent (8-10, 3-5 PAC) fell in straight sets to the Golden Tornadoes (9-11, 4-4 PAC) by scores of 25-22, 25-15, and 25-17.
Shawn McSwiggen totaled 12 kills, while
Zebadiah Wyant recorded 10 kills of his own.
Jackson Genicola recorded a double-double with 24 assists and 10 digs.
It was all GT's from the start of the match. Geneva jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back in the opening set. Saint Vincent tied the set at 19-19, but Geneva outscored them 6-3 the rest of the way to win the set (25-22) as SVC trailed 1-0 in the match.
In the second set, Saint Vincent had the set tied early at 5-5. Geneva then went on a 15-5 run to take a 20-10 lead, before splitting the next ten points with the Bearcats to win the set (25-15), taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
It was much of the same story in the third set. The set was tied 5-5, before Geneva opened up to a 20-13 lead. They outscored SVC 5-4 over the next several points to hand the Bearcats the third set defeat (25-17) and a 3-0 match loss as well.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, March 26 with a trip to Bethany. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
