Men's lacrosse falls in final non-conference game to Lebanon Valley

LATROBE, Pa. (March 22)- The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team fell to Lebanon Valley by a score of 13-7 in the Bearcats final non-conference matchup of 2025.

The Bearcats (3-5) were limited to just two first half goals by Lebanon Valley (4-4) who scored nine first half goals of their own to hold a 9-2 lead at the half. SVC went on to outscore the Dutchmen 5-4 in the second half, but it wasn't enough as Lebanon Valley handed the Bearcats the non-conference defeat.

Liam McCall led Saint Vincent with four points, scoring two goals, while dishing out two assists as well. Jacob Crumling and Justin Wodarek both added two points each with one goal and one assist. Carter Haid, Jonathan Nagy, and Owen Rogers both added one goal each, while Calvin Rose assisted on one goal for the Bearcats.

Brady Beard went 15-22 in faceoffs, scooping up a game-high nine ground balls for the Bearcats in the loss. Mason Krabbe added four ground balls for SVC as well. Garrett Ritts took the loss in net, making 11 saves for Saint Vincent.

Lebanon Valley quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the first six and a half minutes of the first quarter. Crumling got the Bearcats on the board, scoring on an assist from McCall to cut the lead to 3-1. However, Lebanon Valley went on to score the next four goals and seven of the next eight to take a 10-2 lead five minutes into the third quarter. Over that span, McCall scored the lone Saint Vincent goal on an assist from Wodarek.

Saint Vincent went on to outscore Lebanon Valley over the remaining quarter and a half, but it was too little too late as the Bearcats fell in the game. McCall, Nagy, Wodarek, Rogers, and Haid scored the final five goals for the Bearcats.

The Bearcats were outshot in the game by a 41-37 clip, while the Dutchmen also led shots on goal 24-23. SVC was 27-29 on clears, while the Dutchmen were 25-30 on their end. Ground balls were 33-24 in favor of the Bearcats, while faceoffs were controlled by Saint Vincent as well at a 16-7 clip. SVC was 0-5 on extra man opportunities in the loss.

The Bearcats will now begin Presidents Athletic Conference play as they travel to Franciscan to take on the Barons on Saturday, March 29. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at Franciscan.
