GREENSBURG, Pa. (Apr. 11)- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team earned a 6-1 non-conference victory over Mount Aloysius on Friday evening at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
The Bearcats (17-4, 5-3 PAC) have tied a program record 17 wins, tying the 2011-12 team that went 17-5 overall.
Saint Vincnent won all three doubles matches to clinch the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead. In the top singles position,
Carolina Walters and
Isabella Lane earned a 6-2 victory.
Abby Donnelly and
Lydia Lieb clinched a 6-0 victory for the Bearcats at second doubles and
Bella Baumgardner and
Julia Runk recorded a 6-2 victory in third doubles as the Bearcats led 3-0.
SVC won five of the six singles matches as well.
Carolina Walters recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the top singles spot. The Bearcats also won 3-6 singles.
Lydia Lieb earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the third singles spot for her 69th career victory.
Marisa Hooper followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win at fourth singles.
Abby Donnelly recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at five singles and
Sydney McWreath earned a 6-1, 6-2 win for the Bearcats in the sixth singles position.
Saint Vincent will conclude their 2024-25 campaign with a matchup against Waynesburg on Wednesday, April 16. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Waynesburg on Wednesday.
