GROVE CITY, Pa. (Apr. 16)- The Saint Vincent College track and field team produced several notable performances Wednesday at the Grove City Mini Meet, held at Robert E. Thorn Field.
On the women's side, junior
Miranda Cincotta had the performance of the day nearly missing the school record in the 800, crossing the line in 2:16.43, good for second place in the event. Her time will qualify her for next month's AARTFCC Championships. Also, competing in the 800, freshman
Isabella Snyder ran a personal best time of 2:29.34.
Another strong performance came from junior
Cassy Lanza competing in her first 5k on the track. Her time of 18:57.46 was just the seventh Bearcat in school history to go below the 19:00 barrier. Leading the Bearcats in the 1500 was junior
Grace Scoville placing sixth in the event, running a personal best of 5:11.59.
Sophomore,
Cadence Smith, sprinted to a 18.80 finish in the 100 meter hurdles in her first attempt in the event. Smith would also compete in the 400 hurdles, running 1:17.23. Joining Smith in the 400 hurdles was freshman
Samantha Straub, running to a personal best time of 1:09.40.
On the men's side, senior,
Aiden Jackson, won the 1500 in a winning time of 4:09.84. Also, competing in the event, and earning new personal best was freshman

Kenny Battistelli (4:27.99), junior
Matthew Thomas (4:28.57), senior
Michael Drazga (4:34.80), senior
Joey Jafarace (4:38.48), and freshman
Roger Kwiat (4:57.94).
Jackson returned to place eighth in the 800, running 2:04.75. Junior
Ryan Cawley crossed the time in 2:07.35, nearly missing his personal best.
Junior
Jalani Campbell was the Bearcats top sprinter on the day, posting a time of 11.53 in the 100, which was good for fifth place and a 24.10 time in the 200. In the 400, senior
Matthew Esdelle recorded a personal best time of 55.91.
Ending the day for the Bearcats on the track were seniors
John Syms and
Jeffrey Raynor in the 5,000-meter run. Syms finished in a personal best time of 15:47.45 and Raynor finished close behind in 15:51.66
In the field events, sophomore
Lucas Measel record his best jump of the season, clearing 1.79 meters, finishing third in the event. Freshman
Jared Bailey finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 12.27 meters and sixth in the discus with a distance of 29.95 meters.
Saint Vincent will take a few weeks off before the PAC Championships, which are held at West Virginia University. The meet will start at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 1.
