DOVER, Ohio (Aug. 31)- The Saint Vincent men's golf team placed sixth at their season opening tournament at Wooster.
Matt Edwards and
Owen Miele were the Bearcats top finishers, finishing tied for 10th. Edwards carded rounds of 77 and 73 to finish one over for the tournament. He finished his two days with three birdies and an eagle on his cards to lead Saint Vincent.
Miele on the other hand finished rounds of 74 and 76 for Saint Vincent. He finished with five birdies over the two day tournament.
Brendan Cooley finished tied for 22nd for Saint Vincent, shooting two rounds of 76 to finish the tournament four over par. Cooley led Saint Vincent with six birdies over the two days, including four in the opening round yesterday afternoon.
Owen Dzurko and
Evan Bower were Saint Vincent final two finishers in the tournament. Dzurko carded rounds of 77 and 79 to finish seven over, while he recorded three total birdies. Bower on the other hand shot rounds of 77 and 84, recording five birdies, all of which came in his opening round 77.
Mount Union won the tournament as a team, shooting a two-day total of 593, finishing seven strokes ahead of John Carroll who placed second.
Brian Myers of Mount Union won the tournament, shooting a two-day total of five under par.
