GREENVILLE, Pa. (Sept. 25)- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team earned a 7-0 shut out victory on the road at Thiel on Thursday evening.
The Bearcats (6-4, 3-3 PAC)Â won every match in both doubles and singles over the Tomcats (0-7, 0-5 PAC).
In doubles,
Carolina Walters and
Rachel Zgurich recorded a 6-0 win in the top doubles spot.
Rebecca Kurylo and
Sydney McWreath followed with a 6-1 win in the second doubles spot to give SVC the doubles point and a 1-0 lead in the match.
Cloie Causer and
Ashley Thiel picked up a forfeit victory in the third doubles spot.
In singles, Walters (number one singles), Zgurich (number two singles), and
Bella Baumgardner (number three singles) all earned 6-0, 6-0 wins. Kurylo added a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the number four singles spot and Thiel picked up a 6-3, 6-0 victory in the fifth singles position. Causer earned a forfeit victory in number six singles for SVC.
The Bearcats return to action on Saturday, September 27, hosting Division-II foe Clarion University in a non-conference matchup at the SVC Courts. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
