STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (Sept. 27)- The Saint Vincent men's golf team placed second in the eight team field at the Franciscan University Invitational at Steubenville Country Club on Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats shot a team total of 311 to finish just eight strokes behind Marietta, who won the event.
Matt Edwards was the Bearcats top finisher, recording a sixth place finish overall, shooting a round of 76. Edwards carded eight pars and three birdies to lead the Bearcats at the event.
Logan Clark finished just behind Edwards, shooting a round of 77 to finish tied for seventh. Clark finished with 11 pars and one birdie.Â
Owen Miele,
David Newsom, and
Brendan Cooley all finished tied for 12th for the Bearcats. The trio shot a total of 79. Miele carded nine pars and a birdie, Cooley totaled 10 pars and a birdie and Newsom totaled nine pars and two birdies for the Bearcats.
Saint Vincent will return to action Monday, September 29 competing at the Grove City Invitational. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Monday at Grove City Country Club.
