LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 29)- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team fell by a score of 5-2 to Geneva in a Presidents Athletic Conference matchup on Monday evening in Latrobe.
The Bearcats (7-5, 3-4 PAC) fell in all three doubles matches, before picking up two wins in singles against the Golden Tornadoes (5-5, 2-3 PAC).
After falling in all three doubles matches and trailing 1-0 in the match, Geneva picked up wins in second and third singles to increase their lead to 3-0 in the match.
Carolina Walters got the Bearcats on the board with her 33rd consecutive singles victory, picking up a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the top spot to cut the lead to 3-1. However, the GT's picked up a win in number six singles to clinch the match victory.
Geneva followed with a victory in number five singles, but
Caroline O'Connor ended the match on a strong note for SVC. O'Connor picked up a 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) victory in the fourth singles spot for Saint Vincent to end the match.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Monday, October 6 with their PAC regular season finale against Allegheny. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in Meadville on Monday.
